Former glove factory to be converted into office space

One of Yeovil’s historic glove-making buildings is to be the subject of a £7 million development.

The project, named Yeovil Vision, is part of the local partnership South Somerset Together and will provide the area with modern office space in addition to retail, accommodation and restaurant facilities.

Dutch electronics company Phillips has unveiled the country’s first LED office building.

Having been open for business for under 12 months, Orega’s Beehive business centre is now 80% occupied after attracting 2 new tenants.

A total of £1.2 million has been invested in the project to turn the Beehive into high-tech, modern offices with sympathetic styling and conference and meeting room facilities. The building, which has a striking art deco design, was the Gatwick airport’s original terminal and is managed by the office provider on a 10-year lease.

The North West says HELLO to overseas investors

HELLO Northwest is a regional project designed to encourage overseas investment by providing free office space in select locations across the North West.

The ‘soft landing’ scheme, which provides companies with up to 12 months rent-free, serviced accommodation, launched earlier this week. Free accommodation will be accompanied by a variety of other business development services provided by the North West Development Agency (NWDA), including expert advice and assistance to companies looking to relocate to the region.

Shaftesbury lets 3 more properties in Covent Garden

The real estate investment trust, Shaftsbury, has signed tenants for 3 of its properties in St. Martin’s Courtyard.

The facility contains 69,000 square feet of office space, in addition to a number of shops and restaurants, and is part of a joint venture between Shaftesbury and the Mercers’ Company.
