Downing gives Glenn Howells office design contract
December 5th, 2007 | by Amy EdwardsProperty company Downing, based in Liverpool, have nominated Glenn Howells Architects to design a new tower element for Liverpool’s largest office building.
The plans for this include a 20 storey extension to the 600,000 sq ft Capital scheme on Old Hall Street. The building, formerly known as Royal & SunAlliance House and is likely to include offices, flats and a hotel.
The £10m first phase which includes refurbishment of offices and a new reception area is almost complete. A £13m second phase which will have 18,000 sq ft of office space added to the 8th and 9th floors will be completed in 2009.
It is expected that a full planning application for the tower element will be submitted in 2008.
