Government organisation takes commercial office space in Birmingham

The Cube, a controversial development in Office space Birmingham serviced officesBirmingham has seen approximately half of its commercial office space leased to the Highways Agency, the government organisation that monitors Office space UK serviced officesUK roads.

Beleaguered by setbacks, such as the recession and disputes with contractors, the fate of The Cube was very much up in the air in early 2010; however, thanks to PricewaterhouseCoopers, the building is set to be completed next month.

Boasting 23 floors with a 115,500 sq ft of accommodation, retail, and grade A office space, this development is expected to attract even more tenants.

A feature that helps it to stand out as an imposing and impressive structure is the glass clad roof that was created with 666 glass panels, set to become Birmingham’s first panoramic rooftop restaurant.

Neil Edgington, Director of BuildAbility, the business in charge of constructing the development, said, “It’s a really important building for Birmingham. The Mailbox was a refurbishment of the old post office, but this is a total new build.”

The Cube has previously featured on Need Office Space in May when building work was halted due to a Canada goose building a nest in the site. We can only assume that all the eggs have hatched and the goose has safely left its home.
