A new addition to this will be a media centre backed by property magnate David Pearl looking to establish a prime location where industry types can work and interact alongside one another.

The London borough of Hackney, an area already well-known for arts and media, is intended to be the home of an exciting new centre for creative industry and will be in close proximity to the International Broadcast Centre .  The 88,000 sq ft of land situated in Queen’s Yard industrial Estate on White Post Lane will be expanded considerably to encompass 120,000 sq ft of media offices.

Pearl, of Pearl and Coutts and Structadene enterprises, has recently been involved in the Channel 4 television series The Secret Millionaire. He posed as an undercover volunteer at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Office space Portsmouth serviced officesPortsmouth in order to donate a slice of his millions to a deserving cause.

Currently, equipment hire company Alias Smith and Singh has agreed to set up their business in a 4,000 sq ft plot and negotiations are in progress for The Bridge Training (a network of creative media professionals) and independent Transparent television to follow suit.  Overall, the low-cost office space is set to attract like-minded creative professionals and bring a creative business boom to the area.

Designs are rumoured to include mezzanine levels to maximise available space and channel high-speed internet connectivity throughout the offices. Plush partnerships such as a gastro pub and a private members club are also set to offer spaces for networking and relaxation.

Furthermore, proposals have been made to offer an attractive rent-free incentive period on all new tenancies. But according to an interview with Broadcast media magazine, David Brady of DIA warns companies eager to get in on the action, “If people want to be in the game and get it cheap, they’ve got to get in early”.
