Search is on for 200,000 square feet of office space in Staines
November 23rd, 2009 | by Amy EdwardsThe search has begun for 200,000 square feet of office space in Staines for two major firms.
It comes in the same week that a 380,000 square feet office-led scheme in the town centre won detailed planning consent. Certica, the gas company, has employed CB Richard Ellis to acquire 100,000 square feet of new office space in the town. It’s thought the move could be motivated by the expiry of its current lease at The Causeway site in 2013. Astellas Pharma have employed Knight Frank to acquire 100,000 Â square feet of office space within 15 miles of the town in neighbouring Bracknell,
Slough, Weighbridge, and
Farnborough.
Last week Trevor Silver and Stephen Morgan’s Landid had some good news which could now affect these searches. The developer won detailed planning consent from Spelthorne Council to build over 300,000 square feet of offices in the town. They have been in consultation with the council for over a year and have finally obtained consent to build 380,000 square feet of office-led mixed use scheme. This will include retail space, residential space and possibly a hotel.
It bought the site, known as Majestic House, from Tidegrove Holdings in 2007. It is now in talks with it’s partner, RREEF, to timetable the building work for the coming years.
